Small landholder farmers represent 70-80% of today's agriculture reality. They typically work on land that is as large as 1 acre to as small as 1/6th an acre. These farmers are more susceptible to changes in the environment, crop diseases, and rising cost of fuel. Only their economic empowerment will help sustain the way of life for the rest of the world. Therefore, modern, innovative and leapfrogging farming methods are required to increase their farm productivity and to reduce the risk of crop failure.

SEED focuses it's effort on farm management and water conservation by developing products that are designed for their small farms and that are energy-efficient.
